First one of the year

Today signified my first race of the year. The Icebreaker 8k. A short and sweet 8km race in Steveston. Weather was good, the rain/snow held off for the morning. My pace was surprisingly acceptable by my standards, considering I haven’t put in a good run in the last 4-5 months.

I was stoked. Not so much because I couldn’t wait to get back into running after taking it easy for the last 24+ months but more so because this race was the very first official race that my son came out and participated in. A quick 1km kids run.

It was fantastic. He was pumped to be a part of the activities and did quite well for his part (being 3yrs old).

I look forward to doing more of these events blending my own passion and encouraging him to learn his abilities. Big thanks to my wife who watched the kiddos while we ran out race. Big thanks to New Balance, Kajaks, and everyone who was involved in making today a success. See you all next year.

Good times!

Cheers
