Run your feet off!

Well, where are we at?

We have quickly approached the middle of the year, and WOW the first half has been bonkers with running. Like a lot of running. Trail, road, day and night, you name it we got it. And it’s all for sale!

We have tackled some pretty amazing things so far. 1 full marathon, 6 half marathons, a 4x4x48 challenge, and the Richmond 60 ultra run. Some 700+kms so far.

What’s up next?

Well most pressingly, the Baden Powell Run, in a day from now. 43-48km trail run (depending on start and end points) along Vancouver’s North Shore. An iconic skyline that I have been watching for the last 30+ years of my life. It makes up so much of Vancouver’s mountain image, and is often brought up as a bucket list task for locals. Whether chewing off sections of it, or biting off the whole limb. 3 of us tackled it last year during the same weekend as CFA runs their V100, which is a beast larger than I am ready to take on. The V100 is the same run we’re doing, but once East to West and then again West to East in the same weekend. I may get there, but I’m not there yet. It will certainly be nice to rub elbows with many of them along the way.

Beyond that a group of us are gearing up for the Timberline trail in Oregon. A 60+ km route that circumnavigates Mt Hood. A mountain I have had the opportunity and pleasure to climb and summit in the past.

There is more lined up for later in the year, but time, rest, and recovery will determine some future plans. So for now this is enough.

I’m on pace to surpass last year’s running distance goals by a few 100, so it will be interesting to see if that sustains.

Thank you all for following along!

Cheers
